  • Question?

I'm going to upgrade from a 3.6.2 board to 3.6.4. I know to upload all the folders and files. But where i am confused at is with the config.php file, from what i understand i really don't need it so should i just delete it before i upload everything. Or what do i need to do.

Your current config.php file contains your variable settings like
    • Database Type
    • Database Name
    • Tech Email Address
    • Database Server Name
    • Database Username & Password
Just to name a few. You may want to back this up or print this out, so that you can use this information to put into your new config.php file before you upload it.

I think on an upgrade, you'll have to rename the file from config.php.new to config.php first, before you upload it.

Just keep your existing config file....there is no need to change it.

Although config files change from time to time.
I always carry my settings over to the new version out of habit.
