  • Step 3 of upgrade prompts download of finalupgrade.php

    Hello,

I am trying to complete an upgrade from 3.6.3 to 3.6.4. During the third part, I click the button to go to the next step and get prompted to download finalupgrade.php (firefox2.0)

In IE, at the same step, it just shows a white page with a single character: 0.

First time I ever saw this and not sure how to resolve.

Reupload finalupgrade.php. Make sure you upload this in ASCII format and overwrite the one on the server.

Upload the file again in ASCII. Same thing.
Deleted entire install directory and reuploaded in ASCII. Same thing.
      Reuploaded all files. Same thing.
The next thing I will try is to download all files again and reupload but I am not convinced this will help. I could use another suggestion or two

It's got to be a file problem. Try reuploading the includes/*.xml files. Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

            Steve,

Do I need to PM you my info for you to confirm?

            I just

            a) deleted every file
            b) re-downloaded the archive
            c) reuploaded every file

And still get the same error.

And, yes, as with everything else I did I paid special attention to make sure everything was uploaded in ASCII.

I had the same problem with upgrade.php

My solution was to remove "error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE);" from upgrade.php
