What does this do?

While using this tutorial to edit get spaces between the categories on my forums:

I noticed that the tutorial's code is a bit outdated, and it has you delete this:

So I was wondering, where should I put that, using 3.6.3 and what does it do? The category spacing LOOKs fine but I'm just not sure what that particular piece of code does. Thanks for any help!

Leave that script in; it's what allows you to double-click the forum icons in order mark them as read.
