Good Program for Backing up forum

hi there people.
I am running on CPanel for my site and am moving servers.

Can anyone suggest a good program to backup the database for the move?
I used to use MYsql front but it has been discontinued.

I have tried using the inbuilt one but am having probs with permissions.

I created a directory in the root and made it chmod 777 but it always says cant write to it.

If you have cPanel on both servers, then it will work fine for the backup and restore.
