Most likely the password is wrong. Either that or this db user does not have full permissions to this database.

password is corrent and user has full permission

In that case you probably don't have permissions to use the mysql client utility.

anyone know what that means, that the computer i'm on doesnt have permission or permission from host?

I don't know what they mean by that either. Best to ask them.

That doesn't look like a vB field or table. Did you install any hacks, products or plugins?

Unfortunately this means that this backup is bad. I'm not sure if there is anyway to fix this. They are trying to restore this to an empty database, right?

Sorry, I don't know how to fix that. Again I do not know of any field in vB named 'finaplix'. Do you know which table this is in and what add-on this is from?

besides the db username and the db name is there anything else that i need to change in the config.php file?

I thought this wwas about restoring a backup. What are you doing now?

Also we need to see the real error message. Right-click on the error page and go to View/Source. Then copy-n-paste the error message here.

Like Steve said - ask them. One question - do they use Cpanel? If so your username is prefixed to everything. IF your username for example is "aky1" then the database name will be "aky1_databasename" and the user for the database will be "aky1_aky1". If you added ME my name would be"aky1_rick". i.e everything is prefaced by the account name

If you use cpanel to administer your website then check that if no diregard
