    Lines of defense against SPAM!

I've enabled all lines of defense included with vBulletin however, I still get multiple users creating accounts and posting porn, cell phones, atv's, etc... The image validation is turned on and the email verification system is enabled but somehow, my site is still being infiltrated by spam monsters.

What other lines of defense can I take to rid my site of these parasites?

By the way, the timezone is always, "Eniwetok, Kwajalein", they always register with different email address's (I've blocked every domain they've registered with), and the IP's are always different.

    Thanks

No deterrent is 100% effective. If the spam becomes a huge problem then I recommend temporarily enabling moderation of new accounts.

I suggest creating a Usergroup called Registered (Confirmed).
Set a Promotion to bump a user into that usergroup after 1 post.
Set Registered to Moderated so their first post must be approved before it is visible to the forum.

You may also consider the Advanced bbCode Permissions add-on which lets you pick and choose which usergroups can post links, images, etc.

I changed my image verification to a question. I keep changing the questions making it hard for spammers to register with my site.

          Here you go: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...highlight=spam

This has literally stopped spamming on my site. I was impressed.

Since the Captcha in vBulletin 3.6 has not been compromised, I am not sure the point of that.

Anyone who spams on a vBulletin 3.6 forum registered personally, not through a computer program, and will still spam your forum.

My forum has been the target of a lot of spammers recently too. Was considering what Feldon has mentioned. My only concern with it that new registrants might be put off. I'm hoping that they would be understanding though.
