    Impex problems

    I installed v3.62 successfully and am trying to import my old forums into it.

    First, I forces me to run the "usergroup import" option. I see no point in this as I am using the default usergroups in both forums. Now, I have to move all my users from the imported usergroups into the proper ones. This is a pain in the *ss. However, I continue on.

    I get to the part where I am to import the forums and get a database error that says:

    ---------------------------------
    mysql error: Unknown column 'showdefault' in 'field list'
    ---------------------------------

    The email I get that reports the error says:
    ---------------------------------
    MySQL Error : Table 'hidingplace_com_forums.datastore' doesn't exist
    ---------------------------------

    How can datastore not exist? Is this not an integral part of vbb? The v3.62 forums are running perfectly.

    HELP!!

    Most likely you are using a table prefix and did not set that prefix correctly in ImpExConfig.php.

      If that was the case, would I not get this error when I go through steps 1-6 of the import? And btw, I am not using any table prefixes at all. I have each forum in its oen database.

      My v3.54 config.php prefix line says:

      $config['Database']['tableprefix'] = '';

      My v3.62 config.php prefix line says:

      $config['Database']['tableprefix'] = '';

      My Impex ImpExConfig.php prefix line says:

      $impexconfig['target']['tableprefix'] = '';

      on both the souce and target areas.

        Perhaps. Nonetheless either that table is missing (unlikely) or the prefix is wrong. Did you check?

          I just went directly into both databases and there is no table prefixes on either and the datastore table is there on both databases.

            Then I honestly don't see how you can get that error. It simply doesn't make sense. Have you installed any hacks, products or plugins?

              Hmm, that is a good question. I know I do not have any corde modifications in there. I can try uninstalling the plugins.

                Well, I uninstalled every single plugin and I still have the same problem.

                  And you have reuploaded all the original files, including the Impex files? There really is no way to get this error if what you say is true.

                    I don't get it either. I just finished uploading all the v3.5.4 files again from the original zip file and still I get the same error.

                      Now you've got me thoroughly confused. You can't use 3.5.4 file with a 3.6.2 database.

                        No, I installed a working copy of v3.6.2 and want to use impex to bring the data from my v3.5.4 forum. Are you saying that this is impossible?

                          No, I didn't say that was impossible. I said I didn't understand what you are doing. Reuploading the 3.5.4 files has nothing to do with this. You need to reupload the 3.6.2 files and Impex.

                            I downloaded a fresh copy of impex (I was using 1.65 and now I am using 1.67). I re-uploaded everything on the v1.6.2 side and now it is working fine. Thank you very much for your help.
