Lost Post Jump to Location

I'd like to change where a user lands when they click on a last posted thread on the front page. I would like this to just go to the last thread in which a post was made and not actual last post. Is this possible without a major hack? The problem with jumping to the last post is that it bypasses ads I have at the top of the page.

Sorry just noticed this thread should say: "Last Post" not "Lost Post"

I don't know how to do this without modifying the code. maybe someone else will know.

Okay - seems to defeat the purpose of the top of the page but I'll see what I can find in other places.

FYI - turned out to be an easy hack to the forumhome_lastpostby template.
