Alter the "newest member" pointer

Basically, a test user was created for something one of the administrators needed to test out (they shouldn't have, but they did ). Now we have this test user viewing as the latest user.

I wanted to manually change who the "newest member" points to and tried the following:

• changed the newest userid to a free one lower down the list (from a departed member)
• set the "joined date" to a year a go
• after the above I rebuilt counters

Still it shows the newest members as the test account and also it seems to point to its old userid, not the new one. Everywhere else it works, like in memberlist, but not in the "newest member" part of the stats.

Can someone please tell me how vb determines the newest member?

Well it was the last registration, nothing short of a new registration, or deletion of that user, will change it.

I know I am probably being incredibly dense here, but how does it know which user is the last registration? I thought it perhaps did that by finding the userid with the greatest number, but it doesn't appear to be that at all. It must be comparing values in a field in a table to determine which of the members in the database is the newest. I guess what I am asking is which field in which table is it?

Its stored in the datastore table.
