Unable to Merge Threads and other problems

I am the only moderator/admin for my forum, and after years of no problems, some users have reported that the edit button does not show up fir them (didn't have permission to edit it). I have the edit delay set to "0".

Any now I'm having problems too - I just tried to merge some tghreads (as usual) and got this message:

(Name) you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Does anybodu know what's causing these irregularities?

Make sure you are logged in. Check your moderator and user permissions:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> Can Edit Own Posts

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Permissions -> [Edit] -> Can Edit Own Posts

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Show All Moderators -> [Edit Permissions] -> Can Manage Threads
