    howto re-use 3.5 accounts/forums for 3.62 new install

    Greetings,

I am in process of re-imaging my root server to upgrade linux/plesk/sql/phpmysql. I plan to install the latest version of vbulletin (3.62). What would be the best way to backup member accounts and forum threads? My current version of vbulletin is 3.5.

Simply back up the database: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...nce_ssh_backup

Thanks Colin, I appreciate your time. Once I back vbulletin 3.5 via SSH per your above post, will there be any bugs/issues when I restore the backup under a fresh install of 3.62?

No, you will just have to run the upgrade again since you restored a 3.5.2 database.

Really you should just upload the 3.6.2 files and run the upgrade script.

So backup, then restore, then upgrade.
