New Posts Different?

I just upgraded to 3.6.2 tonight and then got this message from a regular user.

Are you still doing software updates?

If not, then there is a bug.

Before the update, if I had not read the new post in a thread, then I click on the thread and the post would be displayed, now it says I have not read a post and I click, it takes me to the first post in the thread.

also...

Also, after a thread has been completely read, prior to the update, if you clicked on the thread, the last post in the thread would display, now it is the first post in the thread.

I have verified this problem and have also now gotten messages from other users who have noticed this problem.

Any suggestions?

It doesn't appear to be happening here, do you have any mods/hacks installed?

Nothing that wasn't installed 4 hours ago before upgrading. I'm not sure yet that it's not happening here.

OK....I just verified that it is indeed happening here. I went to an active thread...the release discussion on 3.6.2. I made sure that it I read all the posts. Checked new posts and indeed there were none in that thread. I waited until there actually was a new post and then clicked on that thread from "new posts" and it opened to the first post of the thread. Before this upgrade, it would open to the first post that you hadn't read.

If you click the link (as in the thread title) it takes you to the first post of the thread.

If you click the little down arrow next to it, it takes you to the first unread post.

Is this a new undocumented feature? I don't think it was that way before.

The down arrow has been there pretty much forever. Sorry I didn't pick up earlier on what you were referring to.

Well...to be honest...I don't use that feature much but it's strange that I got PMs from about 6 members after my upgrade tonight. All of them the same...that clicking on the title of the thread used to take them to the last post but now takes them to the first.

Same thing though on the forum thread listings. They say clicking on the thread title use to take them to the first post that they haven't read but now it takes them to the first post also.
