    Quick Edit Problem

    I have been facing this problem now for some time. Whenever a user presses the edit button, rather than opening the "in-frame ajax" quick edit window, the full edit window opens up.

    So even to do small changes, users are made to do a complete edit rather than quick edit.

    Any help in this regard wud be greatly helpful to my users

    You did enable Ajax, right?

    This is almost certainly a problem with a customized template. Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

    Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

      Thanks for ur reply steve

      I did made a new style as per ur instructions, choosing no parent style. Then I un-checked the previous default style and tried to do quick edit

      Still the same problem . the circle (animated) moves for 2-3 sec but the edit window doesnt open

        I hope this has nothing to do with the browser I m using, FF (although I havent tried this on IE as yet).

        But other forums work fine on FF quick edit, its only my forum which gives this strange problem, which somehow irritates the dial up users coz they have to wait for new window to open

          Then it has to be another change you've made. Reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file.

          Next, disable all plugins.

          Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

          define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
