move only members from 3.5 to 3.6

I have a board running 3.5.0 that has alot of modifications. I want to start fresh again on 3.6.4. Is it possible to backup the forum settings, members, posts & attachments only not all the modifications done to templetes, files etc

i see that impex can be used but i will lose ids of posts, threads and members. is there anyways around this?

Simply upgrade to 3.6.1 and disable all plugins.....as long as major database changes haven't been made, that should do what you need.

You might end up with some redundant database tables but in most cases that shouldn't be an issue.

How about color settings? If I have edited my color and template settings instead of installing a new style will those stay during and upgrade?

using impex do i lose attachments also, ive attachments as files, not in the db.
