    Fresh install / cleanup

Is there a way that I can install vbulletin 3.6.1 to a new directory and pull all the users, forums, announcemnts, etc. (basic bare bones of a vbulletin forum) over to the new 3.6.1

I basically want to use the bare bones 3.6.1 with the old regular data without plugins, modifications, etc. So I can start fresh and install the mods, etc. from scratch to the most updated ones.

I believe the best way for this is to use the impex script.

It gives me more headaches than you can imagine. It requires 4-5 times more work than a standard upgrade, and signficantly changes things.

But, wouldn't an upgrade drag across previous plugins etc?

Yes but sometimes things don't completely come out. Uninstalled vBAdvanced and its still has a link in the admin section *[vba_cpms]* with the drop downs. So a clean install would be nice. And just bring the people and forums over.

                Revert all your templates.
Uninstall any Plugins or Products which have uninstall procedures.
Delete every folder in your vB install except /images.
Upload a fresh copy of vBulletin 3.6.1.
Update config file to point to your vBulletin database.
