background image prob-please help

could someone please tell me the EXACT text i need to put in the "page background" box to use a custom image as a background? no matter what i put, its not working. i have a small gif of cherries that i'd like to use as a repeating background for my board. i put

images/misc/nameofgif.jpg - nothing

i tried http://www.nameofdomain.com/forums/i.../nameofgif.jpg - still nothing

Try url(images/misc/nameofgif.gif)

[forteanajones]

And if combined with a background color:

#000000 url(images/misc/misc/nameofgif.gif)

Also, the repeat option may require something like:

#000000 url(images/misc/misc/nameofgif.gif); background-repeat: repeat;
