forum registration mandatory, but RSS can still work?

I have problems with bots so have mandatory registration to use my forums. However I think this basically disables my RSS feed since my forums are not 'open'

Is there a way to allow rss feeds inspite of forum restrictions? I just have a few users that want to use rss but i don't want to open my forums to make it work.. if that makes sense. Thanks!!

ok, i have given unregistered/not logged in users access to view forums and threads, but doesn't seem to change anything. here is my external link code:

      external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=13

is that right for my main forum which is id13?

does it just take a while to kick in or is something set wrong? thanks!

        That looks fine.
Possibly the cache has to update, wait an hour and see if it works.

still seems dead. here is the link:

          forums/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=13

and i have attached a screenshot of my rss settings, i bumped it to 15mins cache as well. My forums and threads are viewable to guests as far as I can tell. Thanks for any suggestions..

forumids doesn't check child forums, and forumid 13 doesn't itself have any threads.
