Editing Title: Using Advanced updates post within thread, but not in forum index

I've done a fair bit of editing within the code of my vBulletin board, installed a thread prefix mod, and changed the design around a fair bit. Somewhere along the lines it broke the Advanced post editing screen.

When I go into the Advanced editing form for a post and edit the title then submit the changes, it updates the title inside the showthread view but the title of the thread overall in the forumdisplay page is not getting updated with the changes. I tried to revert back to the editpost template to the default and that still didn't help. Anyone know where I should be looking exactly to make sure that the thread title gets updated in the forumdisplay pages?

double click on the thread title in the listing and it enables you to edit the title.

That works but is this normal vBulletin 3.6 behaviour then? Seems a bit strange to me...

I'm trying to edit the title of the original post I have here. How can I do that? I tried the double clicking method but that didn't seem to work either.

You can do one of two methods:

A) DoubleClicking the area around the thread title and use AJAX to edit it.

or

B) View that particular thread and click Thread Tools > and select Edit Thread

Either way works . I prefer the AJAX method

I don't see either of these options for this vBulletin.com board, am I missing something?

AJAX editing of a thread title here at vBulletin.com is limited to about the first 5 minutes of thread creation. Thereafter you aren't allowed to edit the title.

As for not seeing it under thread tools, simply put, you don't have permission to edit the thread at vBulletin.com

Fair enough. Any ideas on how to connect the Advanced Title to the Thread Title in Forum Display?

If you edited the title via Thread Tools, you'll manually need to also edit the title for the post.

If you edit the title via AJAX, it will also update the title in the post.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to use the Advanced edit page to edit the title in the forumdisplay page as well. How can I do that?
