I used vBulletin v3.0.7 in the past. I was able to prevent changes to the data in the User CP by creating a Usergroup with "Can edit own profile" set to "No" in the UG's General Permissions. With this permission set to "No," the member would receive the following response when they tried to change their email address or pw.
"member, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:"
Using vBulletin 3.6.0, I attempted to create a Usergroup with the same restriction so that members could not change their email address or pw. When I set "Can edit own profile" to "No" most of the User CP functions are blocked. However, the user has the ability to change their email address or pw.
I realize that if a member tries to make this change, they will be moved to the Users awaiting email confirmation UG. However, I would just like to lock out their ability to make these changes to their profile.
Is this a bug or is this an intended change in the current version of the software?
Thanks for your help.
