How to change time/date stamp of a post

I'm doing some housecleaning on my forums, and and am merging a bunch of similar threads into one. Thing is I want to leave a message at the front of the thread telling people I've done that. Thing is if I post a message now, and then merge into it, all the resultant merged in posts will appear before mine.

What I want to do is post something, and then change the time/date stamp on said individual post to something much older than anything else on the forums so it will be up front. After that is done, I'll then merge other posts in.

I just don't know how to manipulate the time/date stamp of a post. Thanks.

Edit: I've been told by a friend that there's a plugin available to do this, but it involves tempalte changes, which I'd rather not mess with. Is there any way to do this with a SQL query? I'm rarely going to want to do this, so I'd rather not have to set up something which will require template work for future revisions; I'd rather SQL it for the couple of times I realy want to do this. Danke.

There is no built-in way to do this. You can either manually edit the dateline field in the database or look for a plugin at vbulletin.org for this.

I know there's no built in way to do it; already found a plugin (said that in first msg), but I really want to avoid things that create more template work later.

THat's why I asked about a SQL query.
