  • Forced password changes?

Is there a way to "force" my site members to occasionally change their passwords?

This seems like the kind of question where someone would reply with "why?", it'd be a long explanation - but it'd be nice to know how to do it.

I could use something like this as well.

Or even make them "re-Activate" the account.

Yeah - that'd work for me as long as it didn't mess with the usergroups as my site HEAVILY relies on people being in proper user groups.

In the usergroup manager, you can set a password expiry. After x many days, everyone must reset their password.

that would work but it would be for everyone.

          Here's the way I'm thinking.

Lets say you have a moderator. He's gone for awhile (vacation, weekend trip). Then comes back but there is confusion if it's really him (someone may have guessed his password). So you "De-activate" him and make the user use the activation link like they did when they 1st signed up. (Providing you use the activation)

LOL You could just change his password in the admincp, and not tell him the new one. Then he'd have to re-set it!
That would at least verify access to the appropriate email address.

Yes, there is a setting to have passwords expire after x days
