  • Multiquote not working

    My multiquote functionality is not working. The first instance of clicking the multiquote icon works, but subsequent clicks on other posts' multiquote icons do not. The first one "lights up" and the quoted text will appear in the message edit box. I assume this is a template thing, but I'm pretty sure I aready reverted to the default 3.6.0 versions. What template should I be focusing on specifically? SHOWTHREAD and postbit_legacy?

    Another observation is that the only multiquote button that works is the first post on the page.

      This is almost certainly a problem with a customized template. Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

      Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

        Works just fine. I have several template edits that I just redid after reverting outdated templates so I'm reluctant to revert them all. Are there a few specific ones I should focus on?

          Start with the showthread templates.

            I reverted SHOWTHREAD and still no luck. I did a compare of postbit_legacy and there's this code at the bottom:
            Code:
             <if condition="$show['spacer']">
                </div>
                $spacer_close
            </if>

            <if condition="$post[threadid] != 8213 and $post[postcount] % $vboptions[maxposts] == 1">

            $spacer_open
            <div style="padding:0px 0px $stylevar[cellpadding]px 0px">

            <table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" align="center">

            <!-- / post #$post[postid] -->
            That adds a "sponsor" post after the first post on each page. Perhaps something in there is whacking it out?

              Indeed. I just confirmed that removing the above code restores multiquote functionality. Anything jump out from the above code that might cause the problem?

                More specifically, removing this code:

                Code:
                <if condition="$show['spacer']">
                    </div>
                    $spacer_close
                </if>
                restores multiquote functionality, but throws off the positioning of that "sponsor" post. What in there would be causing the problem with multiquote?

                    I don't know what it is exactly but I had the same issue using code for adsense after the first post.

                        The answer is here:

                        http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194366

                        Specifically, axe the spacer variables and set the div to:

                        Code:
                        <div style="padding:6px 0px 0px 0px">

                          strangely for me axing the spacer variable is what makes the multiquote not work, any ideas?
