  • Fatal error when adding moderator...

    Another tricky one. When I tried to change the user group of a user from a normal member to a moderator, then save the changes, I get this:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 23040 bytes) in /home/uwphotochat/www/forums/includes/functions_misc.php on line 81

    Tried it several times and got the same issues. Thoughts? Thanks

    Your PHP does not have enough memory allocated to it to complete this operation. Ask your host to increase the 'memory_limit' varible in php.ini to at least 16M, and preferably 32M.

    To temporarily up your limits edit your includes/config.php file and add these lines right under the <?php line:

    ini_set('memory_limit', 32 * 1024 * 1024);

      Thanks Steve!

      I will forward this info to our ISP guy and see what he can do!
