  • Please Help - Database Error

I can't access my forums or the admin control panel. When I access the database, this is what it says:

    #1033 - Incorrect information in file: './xx_forum/adminhelp.frm'

What do I need to do to resolve the issue?

    Thanks in Advance,

Run Repair/Optimize in the Admin CP. You may need to run it more than once to fix all errors:

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Repair/Optimize Tables -> Check All -> Continue

If you cannot access the Admin CP you can also use phpMyAdmin to repair tables.

      Hello Steve Machol,

Thank you for your reply. I am going to have to use phpMyAdmin to repair tables but there is a problem....

I have no clue how to do that.

Unfortunately, phpMyAdmin is not as friendly to use as the vBulletin admin area that literally points out "Repair/Optimize Tables".

Can you or another tell me how to do this in phpMyAdmin or point me to some information which I can use to teach myself?

You can mark all the tables in phpMyAdmin and select 'Repair' from the dropdown menu at the bottom.

          Hello Colin F,

          It won't let me.

I check out a different database I am using for my site and I saw what you were talking about with the dropdown menu but, for whatever reason, the forum database won't show all the tables. All it will show is the first table which is access and even then, it doesn't show a dropdown menu at the bottom.

The only other thing I get in the forum database is the big error message that says:

          SQL query:

SELECT COUNT( * ) AS num
          FROM `xx_forum`.`adminhelp`

          MySQL said:

          #1033 - Incorrect information in file: './xx_forum/adminhelp.frm'

Do you have any additional suggestions I can try?
