Changing / updating user names

What is the correct way to update all the static quote=username in posts after you have change a member's user name?

Update Counters.



Admin Control Panel > Maintenance > Update Counter :
* Update Usernames
* Update thread information
* Update forum information
and if you have turned on post cache,
* Update post cache

That should do the trick

There is no need to manually run an SQL query to update the quoted by info in other members posts?

Is this because I am running 3.6 now? I'm sure with 3.5 it was not possible.

I did as insctructed above. Ran all the update counters, but still the old username appears in all threads. I am running vb 3.5.5. Do I still need to run a query?
