  • "Your email address has been banned."

    Some of our users trying to register and getting the above message - even though neither their email, nor their extension is banned. It seems to happen with hotmail.com accounts.

    On one occasion a person had registered multiple times successfully with his same email and was suddenly getting a "banned" page with his new registration (we allow multiple registrations for the same email). So he created a new email from scratch and it was still "banned" when he tried to use it. He could not register at all with any email and we had to register him ourselves.

    In another case a person simply switched to another email she had and it worked.

    Any ideas?

    Try re uploading all original vB non-image files (except install.php). Use ASCII format mode when using FTP client to overwrite files on server side. You should add same information to specific fields in config.php, but try to edit though host side.

    If you do not see this error no-longer, then the following steps need not apply.

    Then if you have an other installed modification, do the following to disable your products and plugins to get your issue resolved.

    Note: To temporarily disable all modification add ons, edit config.php and add this on next new line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Next run Admin Control Panel > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Suspect File Versions
    And list all custom .xml files from host side folder includes/xml/... or just remove or moved them.

    Another thing is you can ask them for ip to see if you have list that in banned side and make sure you did not add it to .htaccess.
