  • Separate Thread Editing and Moving Options

What is the best way to enable a member to edit his/her own posts indefinitely if all other regular members have only 24 hours? Also, is there a way to allow a member to move a thread without allowing other moderating options for that member? Are these options available in vB?

To edit posts indefinitely while users can only edit posts for a set period of time requires the user to be a moderator. This does give them permission to edit other peoples posts too.

In vBulletin 3.5 you can set permissions for forum specific moderators but not for super moderators. In vBulletin 3.6 you can also set permissions for super moderators.

Using moderator permissions you can allow only certain moderation functions to moderators so if you wanted someone to only be able to manage threads then you can just grant them that permission without any other permissions.
