    too many connections & slow running

    hi all,
    im having serious issues with my forum at present..(see title)
    the main one being the forum is so slow taking upwards of 30 seconds sometimes to refresh a page after an edit/post/navigation..
    Database error in vBulletin :

    mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Too many connections
    /homepages/xx/xxxxxxxxxx/xxxxxx/xxxx/includes/class_core.php on line 279
    my users are getting almost as annoyed as me..
    i also get 'too many connections' errors reported by vB..
    ive attached a txt file showing mySQL configuration as reported by CP..
    any advice greatly appreciated..

    1. The server has maxed out the number of MySQL connections it allows. This is a server-wide limit, not just your forums. You can try turning persistent connections off in your config.php:

    $config['MasterServer']['usepconnect'] = 0;

    But if you still have problems after that, all you can do is ask your host to raise the maximum number of connections they allow.

    Here is more info on that error:

    2. Please see this thread for help with optimizing your server:

    Then post the requested info in a new thread in that forum.
