  • MYsql size fluctuations

I run a regular back up for the database every four hours through a cron job and then once a day I have scheduled download onto my PC. I was looking at my download logs and noticed that the database size fluctuates. It goes up and down. For example the size went from 140 megs down to 86 megs and throughout the history there are these types of fluctuations.

Am I actually losing information? Everything seems normal except for these fluctuations.

The session and search tables are cleared out periodically which could account for some change. But that sseems a bit extreme. I would restore one of the smallet backups to a new database just to make sure it installs completly.
