  • Prevent thread based on "bad words" list

I know you can replace ***** for bad words but how can I prevent people from posting their thread if the thread posting contains one of the bad words.

Basically I want to stop all "cialis/phentermine" threads. I want to totally stop them from posting in the first place.

    Is it possible?

There is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at

Fair enough but wouldn't this be a good function to have. vBulletin should make default as it absolutely useful(necessary)

This will stop most(ALL) of the spams!

One interesting side-effect (oops!) of banning these posts containing abusive language and/or viagra, etc pills is that if the official vBulletin forum were to introduce such a system, then you wouldn't be able to post threads on here asking for help over such issues with these words being involved...Opening up another can of worms!!!

Another route to try would be to increase the minimum characters per post to something more meaningful than a short 'yes' or 'no' viagra grunt, and perhaps increasing the minimum time between posts. Both of these options are done from the Admin Control Panel > vBulletin Options (They are quite sone way doen the page!)

I know this will only slow them down, but hopefully it will become so frustrating they will go and find an easier forum to abuse...There are plenty out there!!!
