  • Is there a way

to replace a certain word with another easily?

Like someone types in Cat, it is automatically changed to dog.

  • #2
There is no direct option for that as far as I know.

If you are not using the censorship settings on your forums, you may set it to replace cat with dog (rough solution of course, but it will work if you need to make only one replacement).

The other close solution will be to add a custom BB code, but in this case you will have to add "[" and "]" to cat.

You can do it very easily with Replacement Variables. (AdminCP -> Styles & Templates)

Though, it will replace any occurance of cat with dog. category would become dogegory.

Replacement variables are working only in templates I think, aren't they? Looks like he needs it in actual user posts.

Replacement variables work in posts and thread titles.
