  • How long should a Repair / Optimize take?

OK so a lot of users on my site were getting the "Page cannot be displayed" and "Page not found" after posting. It would still record the post, would just get annoying for the users. Per one of the recommendations on the site and from another webmaster I ran the "Repair / Optimize tables" function... I selected all the databases and ok.
It has been running about 30 minutes now and just saying "Please wait". I don't want to end it abnormally and have it crash my database or something, just curious how long this should usually take? The SQL database isn't more than about 30 megs if I remember right...

30 mb .sql file shouldn't take 30 minutes. Should be done in seconds or max a minute.

Run optimize seperate from repair and run it a few times.

So a 175mb database should have finished within 16 hours then?

Is it safe to navigate away from the please wait page?
When in doubt ... Format and Reload!

I have a 350 MB database and it is done in under 30 seconds.
Yes, you can move away from that page. It has timed out for certain anyway.
