3.5 speed issue

hi my board is 3.5.3 and i have 2414 member and 24,449 thread and 257,929 posts

in the last few days the board is very slow in loading the main page the threads and the quick replay is slow
i did close the board and make only members can se the threads and posts still the same nothing change in the speed

some of my friends told me if upgrade my board to 3.5.4 it will be faster
can any one please help me in this mater

im upgrading as i write this post
is their some settings or tweaks that i can make to make the board faster

What does it say next to 'Server Load Averages' in your AdminCP?

Also, do you have any plugins or code modifications?

That load doesn't look bad.
Try removing all your plugins and see if that helps.
