    CRAP!

Guess my best bet is to move the database to a bigger partition and symlink.

    Thanks for your help Colin.

It's possible that this is the fulltext index.
Be advised that moving from the vBulletin search to fulltext won't make your database much smaller, as fulltext does something similiar than vBulletin did with the word and postindex tables, except that it's done internally by mysql.

Well, the files were created in the last few hours, when trying to change from vbulletin search to fulltext.

When i attempted to delete the file, this happens:

    [email protected] [/var/lib/mysql/bikeforu_forum]# rm #sql-9bf_1551.MYD
    rm: too few arguments

Any tips on deleting such a file?

Generally these are the database files, but as far as I know they're usually named after the database table. vBulletin itself doesn't have a table named like that.

Not that I know of... but not sure how to check. Its a rather standard vb install. Nothing extra or fancy, but a large site.

BTW, there is a 4th file:

    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 9056 Jun 19 23:17 #sql-9bf_1551.frm

started a topic What are these 3 files?

    What are these 3 files?

My /var partition is 100% full, looking around my database I see these 3 files:

    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 1261620680 Jun 20 01:54 #sql-9bf_1551.MYD
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 65983488 Jun 20 01:59 #sql-9bf_1551.MYI
    -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 270557184 Jun 20 03:07 #sql-9bf_1551.TMD

Kinda BIG... what are they? Can I delete them?

My search index was around 1.5gig in size, I cleard out the postindex and word tables and attempted to convert the search to fulltext, but it didnt look like it worked...
