    Changing hte new registration group

I am starting to get people who register on the site, and then just post crap with a ad for a crappy site in their signature.

So, I want to change the group new registered people get put into when they register with restrictions.

I created the usergroup, and created the promotion, but I can find where to change the usergroup new registed users are put into.

I know it around there somewhere...anyone?

You should make a new usergroup based on the default registerd usergroup and based on the same permissions as the default registered usergroup; with exception of the permissions they should get after the upgrade.

Now make a new promotion and upgrade them to the new usergroup.

I also want to do something like this but i have a question regarding the method Floris suggested.

Since promotions only run every hour (by default), will this mean that the new user will not be part of the new permissions for up to 59 minutes?

He is almost correct. If it runs once per hour but a user signs up 5 minutes before the hour is up, he or she won't have to wait an hour.

He said "up to 59 minutes".
