  • mysql questions-- where are vb on/off & banned ips stored?

we had to revert to an older database but I'd like to retrieve some data. we got hacked, and the board is set to off. how can I reset this via mysql? and how can I get a list of the ips banned?

You can upload the tools.php from the do_not_upload/ folder, it will have a switch to flip the forum back to on or off.

And as admin you can still login directly to the admincp and go to the options and turn it on or off from there.

I uploaded tools.php but it doesn't look like that's enough to restore access. they changed my password.

it says the forum is currently on but it certainly looks like it isn't: http://www.forums.ffshrine.org/public_html2/

wait, http://www.forums.ffshrine.org/public_html2/tools.php seems to reset things for forums.ffshrine.org, not http://www.forums.ffshrine.org/public_html2/

they run on different databases, I don't see why that would happen?

If you put it in the admincp/ directory of one directory check the config.php file from that directory/includes/ to see to which database it links to. That's what tools.php is also linking to.

To restore as admin, register a new nick and load tools.php and click on restore admin to up your account to admin. Which you can use to login to the admincp and change your original pass again.

Important: Once done with tools.php: remove it!
