  • New Users + Moderation problem

It seems that a percentage of our New Users are not automatically going through to the 'Users to Moderate' queue. Is there a reason for this?

If you're using the default vBulletin files, without code modifications or Plugins, then that isn't really possible.

That's what I thought - but no, I'm not running any mods at all. I get emails advising that a New User has signed up, then I go to the admin panel to moderate them and they're not there, even after several days.

Possibly a co-admin is moderating them?
Or they haven't verified their email address yet, and are still in the 'Users awaiting Email Confirmation' usergroup.

What usergroups are these users in?

None that I know of. How do users get assigned to a group? I did play around a while ago with Banned Users though.

                They're always placed into usergroups.
Edit a user that you know you didn't moderate, and check in what usergroup he is.

                  'Users Awaiting Email Confirmation'

I've also recenly noticed a lot of these error messages emailed to me:

mysql_connect(): User dbo67339750 has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections
                  /homepages/34/d66110281/htdocs/forum/includes/class_core.php on line 279

                  Could this be related?

In that case the users have to verify their email address before you can moderate them.

That error isn't related. To fix that, do the following:
                    1) Make sure the persistent connections are turned off in your config.php file.
                    $config['MasterServer']['usepconnect'] = 0;

                    2) Ask your host to increase the maximum number of connections allowed for your account.
                    Best Regards

This is as the default, which is '0"

BTW, is this error related in any way? Just had a few of these. I haven't changed a single setting, so I'm unsure what's happening here.

Is it something I need to worry about? I don't have a clue what it means.
