Can I give a moderator to user using mysql or ftp-access instead of using admincp?

  • #2
That's not really a vB question but you can give anyone you want accxess to FTP or MySQL. It's a dangerous thing to do though, so I'd be very careful.

I am sorry you didn't understand me.
I want to set user as moderator (or administrator) but i don't want to use an admincp. Can I do this using ftp or mysql?

Sorry, I don't understand. What do you want to do exactly?

There is already a usergroup called 'Moderators' in vB.

Sounds like someone trying to hack the forums, to me.
If you have access to the SQL database with the right user perms, you can do anyting, adding users as admins/supermods, delete threads, etc.
