  • Post ID # showing up above each post...

    Helping a friend with his forum and the post ID shows above each post on the left top... it shows as:

    #48 -->

    #56 -->

    etc.

    I checked postbit and it reads as follows:

    <!-- / post #$post[postid] -->#$post[postid] -->
    I loaded the default but then no post show up at all.

    Thanks!

    Revert the postbit template and this won't happen.

      I did that but it still didn't fix it. When I reverted back, it then made all the post disappear.

      I copied everything he had changed over to Word and reverted all his templates back and all is fine. I one by one added the template he created back and the culprit now causing the problem is the navbar.

      I can't really see where he's got anything unusual though. Must be something though.

        If it's not the template, then it's a hack or plugin. This simply doesn't happen on an unmodified vB.

        To troubleshoot this, remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem.

        Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

        define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

        If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.
