  • blank page

    Hi..
I moved my forum to a new server, and when I restored my backup, I got blank pages when I want to login ( forum & admincp).
    Any help.

Reupload all the default files, overwriting your current files, and see if that fixes it.

The white pages are due to one of these causes:

        1. You did not upload the vB files correctly. Reupload the vB non-image files and make sure you upload these in ASCII format and that you overwrite the ones on the server. Make sure you upload the Admin CP files to the admincp directory specified in your config.php file.

        2. You do not have a config.php file in your includes directory. You need to copy config.php.new to config.php, then edit this file with the correct database info.

        3. You have extra space or lines in your config.php file. Make sure there is no whitespace or extra lines in config.php either before the <?php or after the ?>.

        4. Your PHP has magic_quotes_sybase turned on. You have to run this off. On *nix systems you can do this by creating an .htaccess file with this content and placing it in your main forum directory:

        php_flag magic_quotes_sybase 0

        5. Your PHP is not compiled with XML support.

        6. Your PHP is not compiled with MySQL support.

might need to turn on display_errors in php.ini to see some errors.

I did that many time and it didn't work.

            It's there.

            No spaces there.

When I created a new database, it worked. So both services are working fine

I have this stupid problem too, with getting blank pages after I have been editing templates. Except the whole site goes blank.

                  Same method as above

                  php_flag display_errors 1

                  within a .htaccess

Blank pages indicate an error but due to the way PHP is setup it prevents the display of the errors for security reasons. If you turn this back on it should divulge a reason why you are getting blank content.

                    I put this line in:
.htaccess ( under the forum folder)
                    with no help

If you are making no progress open a support ticket and include FTP details and admin details and someone will investigate the reasons why.
