Over the weekend we had a major disaster and had to rebuild from scratch - happily it was very successful! Only a few minor issues left to deal with...

Our forums have always resided in www.urban75.net/vbulletin but I reinstalled in www.urban75.net/forums

I then renamed /forums to /vbulletin and changed the bburl value in the 'setting' table to http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin

Everything is working fine, the only problem is that email notification links are pointing to http://www.urban75.net/forums now.

Admin CP->vBulletin Options->Site Name/URL/Contact Details->Homepage URL = http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin

Is there another setting I need to change?

Change that setting back and forth once, so that the cache gets rebuilt

Last of the *issues* on my to-do list sorted now.

ps/offtopic: Our database was deleted and the backup filesystem was corrupt... I just managed to scrape back 2.9 million posts, 30,000 users and the rest of our data from forums that ran for 26 hours with no physical tables whatsoever! I can't believe it!

The moral of the story is: Always check if a dir is symlinked and server admins should never symlink dirs without telling db admins about it so that db admins don't put backups in dirs pointing to the live db and later delete those backups (doh). Get guarantees that offline backups are regularly checked for their integrity. Don't let it happen to you!
