Why would you disable the URL bbcode to the good members? It's not fair.

Another option is to put the bad users in another usergroup that has bbcode disabled.

You'd have to censor every site in the world, however some education on how the url tag works might help. You might be able to turn off the additonal bbcode url settings via hack or a plugin, you could try asking at vBulletin.org

Do you mean they have http://fake-link.com
Go into vBulletin Options --> Censorship Settings and censor the link.
If you don't want people making a fake link to say "google.com" just censor "google".

How to stop disguised links?
A rather sizeable contingent of users on my board like to do something like this:
They make a link that appears on the page as a URL, usually in answer to some question. (IE, the page displays a link with the text http://www.gohere.com). I assume they do this by putting a URL into the 'name' selector in the link vbcode.
However, the actually link points to pornographic content. Users click on these masked links all over the forum, and the results are not pretty. Is there anyway to prevent users from doing this?Tags: None
