  • Problem with my forum (Line 279) !!

    Hello dear ..
Today, I restored all customers sites to the new server ... but I got problem to access the forums ..

I followed some steps to fix the problem but still got same problem and nothing fix !!

    The problem is :
mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'xxx'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
    /home/xxx/public_html/vb/includes/class_core.php on line 279

    xxx = the username

I uploaded the config.php again ... still getting same problem ...
I updated the CPANEL/WHM again .. still no fix !
    I followed this step :
    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=310265&postcount=12

    mysqladmin -u root -p version

    but I got !:
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
    error: 'Access denied for user
    'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)'

I opened a new ticket in the DataCenter they replied :
I suggest you contact vbulletin support to find out why the error occurs

What is the problem dear ??

find a new host they obviously don't know what they are dealing with. How can vbulletin help when the problem is not being caused by there product ?????? that error simply means yor password is not correct make sure the MySQL connection variables in /includes/config.php are correct your host is the only one capable to assist you with that

This isn't a vBulletin problem, but if you open a support ticket and provide your Cpanel login details, I'll doublecheck your settings.
        Best Regards
        Colin Frei

Please don't contact me per PM.

maybe use WHM to reset the mysql root password?

ensure both old and new servers are same mysql version

did you move from 4.0.xx mysql server to 4.1.xx mysql server ?
