  • Click on Flash problem with ie

    Hello every one,
    Sorry if this question has been posted before but I could not find when searching. Basically since Microsoft recently lost that legal battle with a patent holder about the way Internet Explorer displays OBJECTs and EMBEDs in webpages and they then decided to update its Internet Explorer browser with changes requiring the user input to display and activate ActiveX based media. I have not been able to resolve this in my Flash Navagation Banner within Vbulletin. I managed to sort this problem out on my website by using a small bit of script in a text file.

    theObjects = document.getElementsByTagName("object");
    for (var i = 0; i < theObjects.length; i++) {
    theObjects[i].outerHTML = theObjects[i].outerHTML;
    }

    embedding it as

    <script type="text/javascript" src="ieupdate.js"></script>

    and saving the file as: ieupdate.js

    (This is a Good Tip if you are having problems on your website with flash on your website by the way)

    But sadly this didn't work when I used it in Vbulletin could somebody tell me how I could get around this problem. I just wish that everyone used Firefox...never mind!!! such is life.

    P.S I love Vbulletin, I used to use XMB and although it was functional and free. It didn't come anywhere near the capabilities of this program. I am really glad I bought this as it has saved me loads of hassle and is great to use my members love it.

    Many thanks to anyone who can help
