  • How to disallow members to reject admin email at registration?

I've found out alot new register members can't receive confirm email because they set their settings to not receive admin email at registration.

Is there a way to disallow members turn that option off? So all members must recieve admin email?

I've looked around and couldn't find that setting.

You would need to set the defaults, then manually remove that option from the registration and user cp templates.

To set the defaults for new users:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User Registration Options -> Default Registration Options

To reset options for existing users:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Automatic Query

Then choose the appropriate query from the drop-down box and click on 'Continue'.

To run queries you first need to give yourself permission to run queries in the Admin CP. To do this, edit this section of config.php:

// ****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
// The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
// See the above entries for more information on the format.
// Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
// to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
    $canrunqueries = 'x';

...with x being your userid number (not username).

      Thanks for the reply.

Receive admin email is as default but when members register they can still uncheck the box. Is there a way to make members can't uncheck the box? Do I have to edit the template?

Yes, as I said you will need to manually remove this option from the appropriate templates.

Keep in mind too that certain countries have laws in which need to provide an opt out measure... doesnt stop spammers but its one more thing we get to worry about!
