    I got vBulletin a few days ago, and I was wondering if there is a certain FTP program you have to use to upload vBulletin to your site, also could someone give me a link to a good free FTP program because I am having trouble finding one

      to my knowledge SmartFTP is free. I have never paid for it. http://www.smartftp.com

          it is pretty simple. You just log in go to the directory you want to upload your stuff into and presto. If you don't understand this, maybe you should not be messing with any kind of ftp

            well what I don't understand is what I'm suposed to put in the address box, because when I put my site's url in the box it says not valid host or server, and I have hosting and I own the domain

              try ftp.yourdomain.com or if you have the ip address try it.

                  Did you:

                  Use 'ftp.yourdmoain.com'
                  User CORRECT username and password
                  Use CORRECT Port?

                          Try setting up a new account for FTP.
