  • registeration rules

    Hey guyz,

you know when you first sign up to a forum and you get the 'rules' that you have to agree to before completing the sign up?

    ok, questions.
    1) Is it possible to change them
    2) Can I get the rules to display to previously registered members on their next sign in, and again if they don't agree they can't continue being active
    3) if yes to the above, can I see through the ACP [or anything] who has accepted and who has declined the new rules?

    thanks guyz
    Kurt

    For your first question:

Admin CP, Search in Phrases, search for forum_rules_description and edit that one as you like in the translations box...

#2 and 3 require modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

That phrase definitely does exist in 3.5.4. Try looking again.

It's a Phrase in the Language & Phrase System.

Templates don't contain any actual wording. The wording is stored in the Phrase system so that vBulletin can be translated into other languages.

That's pretty complicated. Sounds like you need the Forum Agreement add-on over at vBulletin.org which requires users to agree to a set of rules before they can participate in a part of your forum. You could set it to apply to the whole forum and then people would have to agree before they can do anything.

It does not use the same text as the forum_rules_description.

Admin CP -> Languages & Phrases -> Search in Phrases -> phrasename (Phrase Variable Name Only)

Click on edit, and place the new phrase in the available language text boxes.
