  • force a user to update their email or profile feilds

i ahve a large amount of memebrs and we now want to have them when they login be forced to either update their email or fill in some custom user fields in our profile page, ie such and such site's username

Is there a way to make then only be able to update before they can get access to any other part of the board or calendar

There is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

      Hi Colin,

Is this a function you would consider adding to the forum in a later release? I am in the same situation at the mo, I have set up a board and now learning there are area's I have omitted to specify and now want people to update their profiles.

      Thanks in advance,

      Raymond

I am in need of it too... so many user subscriptions getting bounced because of old e-mail addresses.

Same here.... new required custom fields are remaining empty. Would love to require a profile update.

In what way can this be done with vb3.6?

How do you do this for the e-mail address?

                      Email addresses are always required.

Right... but a very large amount of them are no longer valid so I want to force users to update their e-mail address.

Is it possible to make the signature a required profile update?
