    test full instal before upgrading 3.0-3.5

    Llke many, I have been shying away from this, but I thought I might do it today. I thought that maybe I would do a test instal of 3.5 and have a look at the templates, and maybe do the changes to the templates etc. before doing the actual upgrade.

    The instal appeared well. I did a test post and headed for the admincp. When the cp loaded I went to expand Styles & Templates, but the whole menu just jumped to the bottom. When I exceeded the logged in time the request for log in appeared in the menu window instead of the main. I could expand the menu by using the "expand all" at the top.

    You can see the problem for now by going to http://www.pontiacs.net/forums/admincp/index.php

    and logging in with "testadmin" and "testadmin"

    When I added the testadmin and went to update permissions, the "All Yes" and "All No" buttons would not function

    I just did a test install of 3.07 and while the menu allows you to open and close your selection, it moves the window to the bottom each time. The oldest version I have is 3.03. I think I will try an install of that.

    Thank you,

      Thanks, I have now tried uploading the admincp/index.php, ascii several times from several sources with no change.

      While I know almost nothing about this stuff, I would think it must be a template in the mysql directory that is corrupt... maybe...?!?!

      Still in need of help, I have done multiple intalls and still the same problem!

      Thanks

        i can't see it as the testadmin user doesn't have enough privileges to go to the styles manager

        maybe support an official support ticket with full admin log in details so one of the vB staff can take a look

          i found the problem as i guess i must be one of vbulltin support team soon

          go to your ftp and then to this file /includes/config.php

          edit your file then find these lines and but you user id instead of number 1 iam buutting to allaw you to log in to the admincp and to allaw you to view and run the Sql Queries and you will be the undeletable user too

          you must have not specified this in the config file although it is specified to by default

          PHP Code:
          // ****** USERS WITH ADMIN LOG VIEWING PERMISSIONS ******
          // The users specified here will be allowed to view the admin log in the control panel.
          // Users must be specified by *ID number* here. To obtain a user's ID number,
          // view their profile via the control panel. If this is a new installation, leave
          // the first user created will have a user ID of 1. Seperate each userid with a comma.
          $config['SpecialUsers']['canviewadminlog'] = '1';
          // ****** USERS WITH ADMIN LOG PRUNING PERMISSIONS ******
          // The users specified here will be allowed to remove ("prune") entries from the admin
          // log. See the above entry for more information on the format.
          $config['SpecialUsers']['canpruneadminlog'] = '1';
          // ****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
          // The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
          // See the above entries for more information on the format.
          // Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
          // to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
          $config['SpecialUsers']['canrunqueries'] = '1';
          // ****** UNDELETABLE / UNALTERABLE USERS ******
          // The users specified here will not be deletable or alterable from the control panel by any users.
          // To specify more than one user, separate userids with commas.
          $config['SpecialUsers']['undeletableusers'] = '1'
