    Show pics in threads

I searched but couldn't find the right answer... how do I set vBulletin to show images in posts? The WYSIWYG editor shows it correctly - but when the post is submitted it turns into a hyperlink to the image file...

Smilies and everything work great and show up fine - but other images placed in the threads show as hyperlinks...

      Try this:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Attachment Options -> View Attached Images Inline -> Yes

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

That doesn't seem to do it... I have it set to yes.

If I enter the URL of the image in the post editor and then submit it - it switches back to a link...

Are these attachments or IMG tags? If the latter, try this:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Allow [IMG] Code -> Yes

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

The editor shows the image inserted in the thread - but when posted, it is a link, as such: THIS THREAD

I am guessing that you have Attachment Sizes set very small and Thumbnail generation ON, so it is trying to generate thumbnails for attachments which are beyond the size limits allowed by your forum. Furthermore, the GD library used by vBulletin will not generate a thumbnail of a GIF file, and since your GIF file is also beyond the size limits specified in Attachment Sizes, it 'gives up' and puts a link.

Increase the sizes allowed for GIF, JPG, and JPEG images and see if that helps. If not, you are experiencing the same bug as 2 other users.

The gif file restrictions are set to 620X500 and 50k - this file is 500X280 and 17k

I will try this using a jpg instead and see if it alows it to post in the thread...

Is this the same as this issue?
